Guess Who’s back February 5, 2009
I’m alive. I’ve said it before, but I really mean it this time. So much to catch up on. I’ll try to do it in order and will warn you with a TMI alert when it gets gross and its going to get gross people. All I can say is that they leave out all the messed up stuff when you pregnant. But first things first.
I’m married…yippie (testing the in sickness & in health)
I’m getting better (I’ve lost 20 lbs the hard way)
The baby is better than fine (I’m pretty sure she is doing UFC cage fighting in there)
My bellybutton is still an innie (barely)
That’s the short version. Stay tuned for the drama
Alive and Something is Kicking November 19, 2008
Good grief, its been a long time. Today has been the first time in weeks that I have had the energy to turn on my computer. Things are looking up. I have been beyond sick. At first I thought I had the flu, then Ebola. Then we found out that I have a tapeworm baby in there. We are calling her/him Count Blobula because it is sucking the life out of me. Don’t get me wrong. We are excited, just worn out.
I have frequent flier miles at the ER and more than a few nurses and doctors have requested to get in line to spank the baby. Here is a quick breakdown
- Couldn’t keep down air, never-mind food or liquids
- Crazy veins and dehydration made it difficult to give me daily IVs or draw blood (I drew the line at getting a blood sample from my jugular)
- Had to get a Picc line and it immediately clotted
- They gave me a central line (nearly gave me a heart attack)
- New central line, fingers are crossed
I’m alive. My husband is a saint. What more could I ask for?

Pot Committed August 20, 2008
I like to call the WPT – the Wedding Poker Tour
If you don’t play poker, pot committed means that you have put so much money in the pot that you can’t walk away. Some of the best lay downs have been when a player just cuts their losses. It can be painful, but it’s the right thing to do.
I was having issues with a vendor and had already paid them a big chunk of change. As I get closer to the wedding, I am becoming more “Souders”. I didn’t think about how much I’d paid them. I just knew I didn’t want them there. They had to go. It was the right thing to do, and I am relived. As my Bear says “It’s never too late to do the right thing”
It’s like Buttah August 13, 2008
Follow this if you can. I’m a Baptist, used to work at a Catholic church, wanted to be Jewish when I was little (still do). So what did I HAVE to get married under? A huppa. Just add that the Jewish traditions I’m “borrowing” (processional/recessional) Jesus was a Jew right? I digress
Nate built this nifty not-quite-a-huppa.
The horizontal poles are held by hooks screwed into the vertical poles. It’s a little tall, but that’s an easy fix
